The Adirondacks draw you in like a long lost favorite book that you found on a forgotten shelf. Maybe you came here as a child with your family or took hiking trips with your college friends; maybe you came to see the beauty of it and never forgot the magic you felt. So many of my couples tell me tales like this when I ask them why they choose the mountains for their wedding or elopement in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY. They were drawn back to the magical place that was and still is incredibly special to them.
We drew our inspiration for the elopement from the mountains’ wonder and magic in the depths of autumn. The grasses in the valley fields turned copper, and the moss on the forest floor a deep velvet green that is the perfect complement to the yellow and orange leaves softly falling. The night skies are the deepest navy with stars like you have never seen before glowing like distance candles in the night.
