I saw on the calendar today that February is considered the last month of Winter. With Valentine’s day, Groundhog day and only 28 days long, I feel like spring is just around the corner. This may be wishful thinking on my part… but I love dreaming about the soft pops of spring colors with the deep greens of the mountain forests that turn purple and blue in the late evening light of spring on a frosty winter night.
The leaves have all but fallen from the trees, and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I can’t help but be thankful for all of the wonderful couples that I have worked with this year and the ones I have the privilege of photographing in the year to come. Cara and Andy are one of my wonderful couples that will be photographing next spring at their Whiteface Lodge wedding!
Liz and Eric love spending long weekends in the Adirondacks hiking, and exploring the high peaks together, so it was only natural that they would decide to have their wedding day celebration in the Adirondacks!
We were gripping our seats in the truck, balancing camera gear and trying to keep their change of clothes from sliding off our laps, while laughing the whole way up Gore Mountain. After climbing out the truck and taking in the stunning views of the Adirondacks, Tim pointed to the peak to our left where in -10° weather with winds swirling, Tim proposed to Maggie during one of their ski trips. I loved looking over to that peak during their engagement session at Gore Mountain, and thinking of the joy and excitement that they both must have been feeling at that moment.
Summer seemed to come late this year to the mountains and we are all a little wistful as we say goodbye to the warm evenings by the lake. I love everything about summer in the Adirondacks; maybe when it cold and snowy for so many months in the North, we cherish our summers a little bit more. Sabrina and Shai’s portrait session captured the essence of summer from the smell of damp earth after a thunderstorm to dipping your toes into the lake on a hot day.
Summer sun and a sweet breeze are what Adirondack bride’s dream of for their wedding day, especially when you have a lake wedding! Meghan and Jack hit the jackpot when it came to their wedding day : ) If you need inspiration for an intimate wedding this is it! Rainbow Lake was the perfect backdrop for their adirondack wedding ceremony, and their wedding reception was held at the stunning Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid.
Lauren loved the photographs from one of my previous session in the Catskill Mountains but we decided that was a little too far to travel! We decided on a location in Essex that I have been wanting to photograph at for a year now. I was so glad they were up for trying something new with me! I think their adventurous spirit paid off big time, because I just LOVE their photographs : )
We met Brittany and Brett at their home in Keene, and was welcomed by a flock of chickens and their dog Sugar! If we ever get another dog I am totally stealing the name Sugar! So cute! We followed them up a winding dirt road to Brett’s families home that sits on the side of the mountain over looking the valley. The view was absolutely stunning to say the least! Read more…
I am so glad that Lauren and Chris made the time in their incredible busy schedules to have their family photography session with me! It can be so hard to find the time especially when we all have such busy schedules and lives! The Saugerties Lighthouse is a gorgeous location and we made the most of the beautiful early morning light to capture some beautiful photographs!
Lucky for Cole and I, and Piggy and Ziva this little piece of paradise is in Willsboro, NY. Some days the wind feels like it will blow you off your feet but it is pretty amazing on those days. The wind will kick up waves so it almost feels like the ocean except you can […]
