Summer seemed to come late this year to the mountains and we are all a little wistful as we say goodbye to the warm evenings by the lake. I love everything about summer in the Adirondacks; maybe when it cold and snowy for so many months in the North, we cherish our summers a little bit more. Sabrina and Shai’s portrait session captured the essence of summer from the smell of damp earth after a thunderstorm to dipping your toes into the lake on a hot day.
Gabriele and Mike’s summer wedding at the Whiteface Club and Resort in Lake Placid was full of huge smiles and adventure! I love that we trekked up Whiteface Mountain for some super cute group photographs and stunning husband and wife portraits!
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor even touched, but just felt in the heart. – Anne Sullivan When Tori reached out to me two years ago, I knew immediately that I would love to capture her and Kyle’s wedding day. I had not seen Tori in years, but have […]

Meghan and Jack hit the jackpot when it came to their wedding day : ) If you need inspiration for an intimate wedding this is it! “Listen closely, even the trees exhale their own sweet love songs that roll off their boughs and echo out to all of creation. Love is always in the air.” Christen Rodgers The warm days of summer have been slow to appear this year, but for Kari and Nick’s wedding the Adirondacks showed us mercy […]
The day we shot this styled shoot there was a mist still hanging in the damp air of the Adirondacks that almost gave you a sense of time when the Great Camps were being built. I love the smell of the Adirondacks, it is earthy and rustic but at the same time there is a hushed elegance that floats in the air.
“Be strong, be fearless, be beautiful. And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you.” – I think Misty Copeland got it right when she said this and I think it describes this styled shoot so well!
I met Danielle and David for the first time when they strolled into the Hotel VT lobby. Danielle was fresh from having her hair and makeup done, which looked beautiful. They had spent time in Burlington, VT on vacation in the past and knew that they wanted to return to elope in a place they enjoyed together. Hotel Vermont was the perfect location. I loved that they wanted to get ready together and how sweet David was putting Danielle’s shoes on for her! Theses two melted my heart.
There is one piece of advice that I can give for planning a wedding: look beyond the day of your wedding and consider the memories that will last a lifetime. All of the planning you do for the day of your wedding is going to ensure that it will be amazing and full of emotion. The days, weeks, months and years that follow are grounded in your commitment to each other through the good and bad.
I spoke with Brittany and Jon a couple weeks before their wedding day to check in with them and they told me they had their fingers crossed for snow. I was a little surprised by this because I thought they would be wishing for warm spring weather! I was a little concerned their dream might not come true given the unpredictable nature of March but I kept an eye on the weather and hoped the snow would last until their big day!
