Winter Adirondack Elopement at the Whiteface Lodge | Lake Placid Photographer

“Intimate, special, happy, full of love!”

Those were the words used when Lindsay told me what she wanted the feel of her wedding day to be. If I could wish one thing for my brides it would be for their day to be filled to the brim with those feelings!
I am so glad Lindsay and Mike were able to have the wedding that was perfect for them and was intimate, special, happy and full of love! Lindsay reached out to me in the early stages of her planning process and from the very first conversation, I knew that I wanted to be there to capture their special day for them in the heart of the Adirondacks.
It was stunning pulling up to the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid on their wedding day; the sun was shining with a clear deep blue sky above and a foot of white snow was on the ground still! I was thrilled because I knew Lindsay wanted a winter wedding. Sometimes weather can be a little tricky in March but Lindsay and Mike had the perfect day to say their vows to one another in the shadow of the tall pine trees.
As a photographer, it is part of my job to pick up on the small gestures and the subtleties of two people interacting. What struck me on this day was how gentle Mike was. All day, whenever he held her had, or kissed her on the forehead it was like she was the most precious thing in the world to him. And I truly believe that she is.
And can we talk about the SMILES for a minute! The huge smiles that literally never went away all day, even in the cold winter air, the joy and happiness was always there!

“I can’t say enough good things about Julia. My husband and I eloped at Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid last week. I spoke with Julia quite a bit before our day, and she couldn’t have made the whole process any easier and stress free. She was always very quick to respond to my emails and phone calls.
I had never been up to Lake Placid before and I wasn’t really sure what to expect on our wedding day. Julia surpassed my expectations and made our day so enjoyable. Not to mention, the pictures she took are AMAZING. She spent a lot of time with us. She had so many great ideas and took us to a few beautiful locations.
