Canfield Casino New Year’s Wedding is such an amazing celebration for a wedding. I was thrilled when Mary Kate and Cristian reached out about photographing their wedding day. Saratoga Springs is one of my favorite upstate NY towns. The Canfield Casino is one of the most beautiful venues in Saratoga. Their wedding was classic and timeless but infused with so much fun. It truly was one of my favorite weddings to be a part of.

Winter in the Adirondacks is one of my favorite times of the year. Winter is often overlooked for the summer or fall months but the snowy months are so amazing. It is worth braving the cold for gorgeous photos in the snow. Each year since their wedding Catherine and Rob have planned a special vow renewal with each other. This year they choose to have their winter vow renewal at the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid! I could not have been more thrilled to photograph this special moment for Catherine and Rob. We then made our way to one of my favorite locations for portraits on film outside of Lake Placid.

What do you do when it is literally 100 degrees on your wedding day?! Roll with it, just like Sarah and George did! Did we have to make adjustments, yes! But they were so doable like only being outside midday for shorter periods and having lots of water on hand. We did family photos inside, and guests had umbrellas to keep the sun off during the ceremony. We made it work, and their day was just fantastic from start to finish! Weddings in upstate NY always have the chance for rain, but if you are getting married in the Adirondacks it is just something to be embraced. Weddings with a little bit of rain are always some of my favorites and Helen and Lee embraced it. The photos at the canoe club were some of my favorites of the day. With the soft light, calm waters and beautiful pastel colors it looks like something out of a dream.

The air was crisp and cool but the sun was shinning on the mountains that were glowing auburn in the setting sun. What a stunning view to be the backdrop during Jessica and Tony’s roof top ceremony on the boathouse deck. As they read their vows to one another the air was charged with emotion that I think took all our breaths away.
