The Lake Placid Lodge is one of the most serene places to get away to when you need to escape to the mountains. So many of my couples reach out to me for photographs while they are staying at the Lodge. It is always one of my favorite venues in the area. The Lake Placid Lodge sits on the Lake Placid’s shores with views of Whiteface Mountain from almost every room. There are no TV’s, which is fantastic because you find time to reconnect while sitting by the fire, enjoying the view from an Adirondack chair, cross-country skiing on the bounty of trails, or just enjoying a specialty cocktail at Maggie’s.

What do you do when it is literally 100 degrees on your wedding day?! Roll with it, just like Sarah and George did! Did we have to make adjustments, yes! But they were so doable like only being outside midday for shorter periods and having lots of water on hand. We did family photos inside, and guests had umbrellas to keep the sun off during the ceremony. We made it work, and their day was just fantastic from start to finish! Jodi and Nick’s wedding day was probably the hottest day the Adirondack Mountains saw throughout the whole summer. With temps hovering in the high 90’s all day these two took it all in stride and just kept smiling. I think we were all happy the wedding ceremony took place on the shores of Long Lake where a cool breeze blew over the water. Despite the heat though these two as well as their friends and family were a joy to photograph.
