Winter in the Adirondacks is one of my favorite times of the year. Winter is often overlooked for the summer or fall months but the snowy months are so amazing. It is worth braving the cold for gorgeous photos in the snow. Each year since their wedding Catherine and Rob have planned a special vow renewal with each other. This year they choose to have their winter vow renewal at the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid! I could not have been more thrilled to photograph this special moment for Catherine and Rob. We then made our way to one of my favorite locations for portraits on film outside of Lake Placid.

An intimate and heartfelt wedding in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY at the Ausable Club and Marcy Field. Emory and Jay still made it feel special with an elegant theme centered around the mountains and their shared love of fly fishing.

We drew our inspiration for the elopement from the mountains’ wonder and magic in the depths of autumn. The grasses in the valley fields turned copper, and the moss on the forest floor a deep velvet green that is the perfect complement to the yellow and orange leaves softly falling. The night skies are the deepest navy with stars like you have never seen before glowing like distance candles in the night.

A summer day, a cotton candy machine, French Lavender 75’s, blue skies, and wedding celebration on your sister’s family property in the Champlain Valley of Upstate NY, doesn’t that just sound like a super fun and relaxed wedding celebration? Now seems to be the perfect time to share Kristin and Mike’s reception celebration in upstate New York. I know so many couples are having to change their wedding plans for this year, and I hope this post gives you some inspiration and hope, knowing that your wedding day will be wonderful no matter what.

A fall elopement at the Hotel Vermont in Burlington was the perfect wedding day for Jen and Seth. They made it completely theirs, from getting ready together, to the ceremony on the rooftop to exploring Burlington for their portraits.

What do you do when it is literally 100 degrees on your wedding day?! Roll with it, just like Sarah and George did! Did we have to make adjustments, yes! But they were so doable like only being outside midday for shorter periods and having lots of water on hand. We did family photos inside, and guests had umbrellas to keep the sun off during the ceremony. We made it work, and their day was just fantastic from start to finish! Now is a great time to capture some beautiful, candid and sweet photos of your family. We might not be able to see each other right now but we can share great photos with friends and family and bring a smile to their face during this stressful time.

You and your fiance are relaxed the night before your wedding. Your family enjoys spending time with loved ones they haven’t seen in ages while enjoying the evening breeze and cocktails. You have set up lawn games and your friends are getting a little competitive with the bean toss. You both soak it all in and know that this is just the start of an amazing weekend.

I don’t know if I have ever been at a wedding that was both really really hot and also had a torrential downpour during the wedding ceremony, but Jessica and Gianno were given the gift of both. But these two and their families just took it all in stride. The rain held off in Saratoga Springs during Jessica and Gianno’s first look and some of my favorite photos are of Jessica and her Bridesmaids with on the property with clear umbrellas.
