A Snowy Adirondack Engagement Session in the Forest
When your soon-to-be fiancé loves the snow and ice-skating, what could be better than proposing to her in Lake Placid? While also planning a snowy Adirondack engagement session in the forest for the next day! When Chris reached out to me about his surprise proposal plan in Lake Placid, I was on board from the start. Paige grew up spending time with her family in the Adirondacks, which could not have been more memorable. With Mim’s help from Juniper Events and Planning, Chris planned the surprise proposal at the 1980’s Olympic Skating Rink where Paige competed and trained as a figure skater.
With Mim, we planned the actual proposal as an advertising shoot with Paige. Halfway through, when the music changed, and Chris and Paige’s favorite song came onto the loudspeakers, Chris skated out onto the ice to meet her. I could not imagine a better moment for them as he got down on one knee and proposed! We did some photographs that night at the Herb Brook Arena Rink and then met the next day for some snowy Adirondack engagement session outside of Lake Placid.
The woodlands in the Adirondacks never disappoint, and I love how their sweet photographs on film turned out. Make sure to see Paige’s custom-designed and truly unique snowflake engagement ring too! It is one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen and completely perfect for them! Congratulations, Chris and Paige, on your magical engagement! I hope that you always find peace and love in the Adirondacks.

Do you love the proposal on skates? I love when something unique and special is planned when guys are planning on proposing. Chris was also so thoughtful in booking photographs for the next day as well. The evening proposal was Friday night, and the sun had already set. He knew how much photos meant to Paige and wanted to create something magical for her that we wouldn’t have been able to capture that night. We met for woodland photographs on Saturday to celebrate, and I love them so much! Most of the photos shared today were photographed on film. I captured pictures on both digital and film cameras, but I am partial to the film : )
