Adirondack​ Engagement Session at the Whiteface Lodge | Lake Placid Wedding Photographer

There is something truly magical about an Adirondack Engagement session. The Adirondack mountains are known for their beautiful forests, pristine lakes, epic scenery and misty mornings. So it is never a surprise to me when my couples choose to host their destination weddings in the Adirondacks! No matter the weather or season, it is always stunning to be married here.

Wendy and Jim drove over 4 hours to have their engagement session in Lake Placid this spring. I am so thankful they did. Their photographs are just beautiful! Originally we were hoping to have the mountains in the background of their photographs but the weather was not cooperating the evening of their session.

I always like to arrive at locations before my couples. To scope out the area and be ready for when they arrive. I had a feeling driving to Lake Placid that the original site we had decided on may have been socked in with fog, and I was right. Sometimes this can look beautiful, but on this day in this particular location, the light was dreary, dark and dull.

So I contacted Wendy and asked if they would be up for plan B! They trusted me when I told them another location would probably be better so we met at the Canoe Club of the Whiteface Lodge. Wendy and Jim are getting married at the Canoe Club in June so I was really excited to photograph their engagement session there : )

As you will see from the gorgeous photographs below that I am so glad we went with Plan B! The light was beautiful and the water was as smooth as glass reflecting the mountains and sky. I love their photographs so much and can’t wait for their Adirondack wedding!
