Love at the Lake Placid Lodge

LakePlacid Lodge Wedding KN 0122 - Love at the Lake Placid Lodge

“Listen closely,
even the trees exhale
their own sweet love songs
that roll off their boughs
and echo out to all of creation.
Love is always in the air.”

Christen Rodgers

The warm days of summer have been slow to appear this year, but for Kari and Nick’s wedding the Adirondacks showed us mercy and they had a beautiful summer day! Kari and Nick’s wedding at the Lake Placid Lodge in the Adirondacks was stunning.  The day was filled with sun and puffy clouds, except for a brief shower during dinner which turned into a beautiful pink sunset over the mountains. A rainbow even appeared over the mountains for a gorgeous moment before the cake was cut.

Kari and Nick celebrated their wedding day with just their closet family members in attendance. I loved spending the morning with Kari and her sister while they finished getting ready. Kari looked stunning in her gown from BHLDN. Her white bouquet, golden t-strap heals and delicate drop earrings were absolutely perfect on her. Kari was one of the sweetest brides, and I just love when the day unfolds perfectly for my brides and couples.

Their family gathered in the Fire Cove room of the Lodge for their afternoon ceremony. With the fire burning and candles glowing bright, Kari and Nick said their vows to one another. After their first kiss and with flutes of champaign in hand, they headed to the lake for an amazing boat ride as husband and wife. We were a little worried about Kari’s gorgeous hair, but the Spa at Mirror Lake Inn did an amazing job, even with a gusty boat ride it still looked beautiful!

The golden light that grazed the mountains in the evening was beautiful for portraits. I am so glad we took the time before dinner for some gorgeous photographs!  I was in love with the little lean-to that we found for photographs as well.

Dinner was served in the Baby Bootlegger room with the glow of the fireplace illuminating the night. Thank you so much Kari and Nick for so graciously welcoming me into your wedding day celebration.
