Golden Adirondack Night Wedding Inspiration
“You caught me in the tide
And I caught you
Sheltered by the night” – Of Monsters and Men
The day I photographed this styled wedding there was a mist still hanging in the damp air of the Adirondacks that almost gave you a sense of time when the Great Camps were being built and the adirondack guides would quietly navigate visitors down the rivers in wooden guide boats. I love the smell of the Adirondacks, it is earthy and rustic but at the same time there is a hushed elegance that floats in the air. I hope these photographs pull some of that elegance and charm out of the Adirondack forests.
The Porcupine Inn’s owner, Fred, understands this history and has poured the mystery and magic back into the Inn. The Porcupine Inn highlighted the dramatic and romantic second “look” that we wanted to showcase for out brides. Sometimes it is nice to move towards a more refined elegant palette for a wedding day, bringing back some old Adirondack elegance in a sea of rustic weddings.
The vendors that participated in the two days of styled weddings shoots put their trust in me and held nothing back when it came to the flowers, cake, planning, invitations and details. All of the participating wedding vendors are local to the Adirondack Region and we are so lucky to have such amazing talent in the Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and Plattsburgh area. From the flowers to the invitations to the jewelry – they knocked it out of the park. Please take a moment to look at the full list of vendors included in the photographs below – especially if you are planning a wedding!
The look below is just one of three that we did on the first day so make sure to stay tuned for my next blog post to see the other amazing looks! To view the first styled look view THIS POST.
