We were standing under the shade of weeping willow tree waiting for his bride to make her way down the path. I could feel the anticipation in the warm summer air, hands fidgeting with his jacket as we waited, and then we heard the sound of tires approaching; it was almost time to see his bride, love, and best friend. 

The Adirondacks sparkle in the winter with a covering of white crisp snow and there is a quiet that envelopes the woods. Kristina and Kevin’s winter wedding at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid sparkled like the snow in the early evening sun. Their winter wedding was beautiful and make sure you check out the pictures from their first dance!

I first met Allison and her mom at a sweet little ice-cream shop on a warm summer day in the Adirondacks. If I could meet all of my brides at an ice cream shop that would be heaven. She was so excited to talk about the wedding they were planning in her hometown and the reception that would take place at the Adirondack Woodcraft Camps. 

When I met Lauren in her hotel room on the morning of her wedding, she seemed to have tucked away any stress and nerves she may have had into a little box and put it away for the day. Lauren was all smiles as the back of her sweet dress was laced and her white veil put in place. To say she looked angelic is an understatement : ) 

“I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” […]

The leaves have all but fallen from the trees, and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I can’t help but be thankful for all of the wonderful couples that I have worked with this year and the ones I have the privilege of photographing in the year to come. Cara and Andy are one of my wonderful couples that will be photographing next spring at their Whiteface Lodge wedding! 

Walking into the Ausable Club, on the morning of Molly and Ryan’s wedding day, you could almost reach out and touch the history of the beautiful lodge that was heavy in the air. The history of lodge holds a special place in Molly’s heart and made the day even more meaningful.

Liz and Eric love spending long weekends in the Adirondacks hiking, and exploring the high peaks together, so it was only natural that they would decide to have their wedding day celebration in the Adirondacks!

He stood beside her, as they waited behind the thick wood door of The Whiteface Lodge. Inside the excited cheers of friends and family echoed through the room as their grandparents entered the reception. The band announced their families, and then the last of their wedding party danced into the Whispering Pines to wild applause. They were next, his beautiful bride, his wife and best friend, by his side. “And now for their first appearance as Mr. and Mrs. Laverty…” echoed through the grand lodge, and they stepped through the doorway, hand-in-hand and side-by-side, as they would be for years to come…

We were gripping our seats in the truck, balancing camera gear and trying to keep their change of clothes from sliding off our laps, while laughing the whole way up Gore Mountain. After climbing out the truck and taking in the stunning views of the Adirondacks, Tim pointed to the peak to our left where in -10° weather with winds swirling, Tim proposed to Maggie during one of their ski trips. I loved looking over to that peak during their engagement session at Gore Mountain, and thinking of the joy and excitement that they both must have been feeling at that moment.
