A summer day, a cotton candy machine, French Lavender 75’s, blue skies, and wedding celebration on your sister’s family property in the Champlain Valley of Upstate NY, doesn’t that just sound like an awesome and relaxed wedding celebration? Now seems to be the perfect time to share Kristin and Mike’s reception celebration in upstate New York. I know so many couples are having to change their wedding plans for this year, and I hope this post gives you some inspiration and hope, knowing that your wedding day will be wonderful no matter what. The Adirondacks and upstate NY are beautiful any time of year and it is okay to be creative or even have two celebrations. Kristen and Mike had a smaller ceremony last year and then this bash with their family and friends this year.
Kristin and Mike had two separate celebrations for their wedding day. The first was at the Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid. Their small guest list included just their closest family and friends. You can see that celebration HERE. It was elegant and beautiful with lush flowers, the perfect amount of Adirondack charm and amazing views of pristine Lake Placid while the sunset over the mountains. Then a year later, they planned an amazing celebration with friends coming from California and all over the United States to celebrate with them. As you can see from the photos, it was a fantastic party and just straight-up fun without the pressure or formality that so many weddings can have.
The Celebration
The day’s celebrations started with guests enjoying fresh cocktails and the amazing views of the Champlain Valley before the ceremony. After guests were seated, Kristin and Mike walked down the aisle together with their sweet baby boy Warren, and pup JoJo leading the way. They resaid their personal vows to one another and recommitted to the life they had pledged to one another almost a year prior. Then the fun really started! There was a bubble machine for the kids, amazing cocktails, cotton candy, a band playing live music, and a bonfire blazing into the evening. The day was all about celebrating with the people they cared the most about and making sure everyone had an amazing time.
I know it is heartbreaking to have to be rescheduling and postpone a day that you have looked forward to for so long. You have spent countless hours planning and finalizing details to all of a sudden be starting over again. I hope this post gives you a little hope in knowing that you can be creative with your wedding day. Maybe you have your ceremony now and elope but still plan a party for 2021. Whatever you decide to do, your wedding will be wonderful, and the people who love you will support whatever you choose to do.
