Summer Wedding at the Northern Lake George Yacht Club – Lake George Wedding Photographer

Adirondack and Lake George wedding photographer for destination weddings and elopements

With everything that has happened in the past few weeks, I think we are all feeling unsure and upended from our daily lives. We are all making the most of the situation and staying home to give our nurses and doctors a fighting chance. As a wedding photographer, I already work from home, but I have been trying to keep to a normal schedule. Part of that means staying on track with goals that I had for the winter/spring months. One of those goals was to keep blogging the amazing weddings I photographed last year. I am so happy to be sharing Sarah and George’s Lake George wedding with you all. Hopefully reading their story and seeing their photos brings a little light to your day. I know it did mine : )

The Wedding Day

One thing you might not realize looking at their photos was how incredibly hot it was the day of their wedding. I am 99% sure it was the hottest day of the summer. It was so hot that the guests didn’t have umbrellas because of the rain, they were used to keep the sun off them during the ceremony. But you would never know if from the photos because Sarah and George and their family and friends didn’t let it get to them one bit. They never stopped smiling or enjoying every moment!

We started the day at the Sagamore Resort on the shores of Lake George, where the ladies finished getting their hair and makeup done. George and the groomsmen spent the morning at Silver Bay YMCA and even went paddleboarding in the morning! We then headed to Sarah’s family vacation home on Lake George for their first look. I love that they wanted to do the first look at a place so special to them both. George’s reaction to seeing his gorgeous bride was priceless! Sarah’s style was modern, elegant, and timeless, and she just looked radiant.

The ceremony and reception was held at the private Northern Lake George Yacht Club overlooking the blue water of Lake George. Sarah and George said their vows to one another under a blue sky and white birch bark chuppah covered in flowers with the families next to them. I always encourage my couples to take a minute to themselves after the ceremony. Sarah and George escaped onto a boat for a cruise around Lake George before joining their guests at cocktail hour.

Guests enjoyed live music and amazing food and drinks by Mazzone Catering during cocktail hour. The reception started with Sarah and George’s first dance and these are some of my favorite photos from the day! The flowers by Surrounding Studio Floral Design were lush, modern and perfect for a summer tent wedding. Chevy Chevis and her band did an amazing job, even though the heat I don’t think anyone was sitting in their chairs for long!
