The clouds were slowly rolling in as we walked down main street in Essex to meet Kelly and Ryan for their engagement session on that warm June evening. I am always excited to see what my couples choose to wear for their session and these two looked smashing! I truly believe when my clients dress up a little (or a lot!) for their session they walk with a little more confidence in their step. Kelly looked beautiful in a long floral dress dress and Ryan was looking dapper in slacks and a button up! To top it all of Kelly’s dad Jim had even come along to help with Cooper, their sweet sweet dog so we could capture a few pictures of just Kelly and Ryan during their session that night! When bringing your pup to an engagement session it is always a good idea to bring a friend or family member along to watch your four legged friend while we take some pictures of just the two of you, and to give your dog a break : ) We started in front of the Essex Inn which is one of the iconic buildings in Essex and provides a beautiful backdrop, and Cooper even seemed to smile for a few ; ) We then made our way down to the waterfront down near the park. You never really know what color the mountains will be, but on this calm night the mountains were gorgeous hues of blue reflecting into the waters of Lake Champlain. We even timed it just right so the ferry was in a few of their pictures! We had the most amazing luck because the rain didn’t come until after we had done a few more photographs in the hamlet of Essex and were making our way back to the water. I am a total sucker for umbrella pictures though so I am kind of glad we had a few sprinkles right at the end! Kelly, Ryan, Cooper, and Jim thank you for a great engagement session and I cannot wait to capture your wedding this fall! Interested in booking your photography session!
