Adirondack Woodcraft Camp Summer Wedding

I first met Allison and her mom at a sweet little ice-cream shop on a warm summer day in the Adirondacks. If I could meet all of my brides at an ice cream shop that would be heaven. She was so excited to talk about the wedding they were planning in her hometown and the reception that would take place at the Adirondack Woodcraft Camps.
Now the program director of the camp it was only fitting that they would have the reception at the stunning camp nestled next to a lake tucked into the mountains. Their hometown church had not joined two people in marriage for years, and it seemed that the whole town was excited for the occasion. I loved that during the ceremony Father Allen joked that they were all worried that Ben was going to take Allison away from Indian Lake, but instead she bought a wonderful young man into the community.
After the ceremony friends and family headed to Adirondack Woodcraft Camps and enjoyed cocktails on a beautiful summer evening while we captured some amazing photographs out on the lake and on the camp property.
The trees and fields were glowing in the evening sun which is always beautiful. It is tempting in the Adirondacks to always photograph dark moody images because the landscapes tends to naturally be dark. The evergreen trees and dark wood lend its self to darker images but my goal for all weddings is to find the light.
I love some of the sweet images from later in the day when we snuck away from the reception for a few minutes to go out to the dock. The sun was just setting over the mountains for that beautiful evening glow.
